The ?global economic meltdown? has not spared Telluride. We?ve seen a tremendous drop in sales activity over the past 18 months. Uncertainty with the national economic situation has put discretionary spending on vacation properties in resorts like ours on hold. For those of us in the brokerage business, it?s been a tough stretch; we?re seeing many of our competitors leave the business. TREC has taken numerous steps to insure that we emerge from this challenging period with its market leadership position intact. Better news seems to be forthcoming related to the global economies, and the gap between buyer and seller expectations is already narrowing as we enter the summer. Sellers have learned patience and have adjusted prices.
